The Thirteenth Moon Center

Photo by Susan Bakaley Marshall	The Thirteenth Moon Center is located in Montville, Maine on thirty-five acres of fields and forest.
Our round studio yurt was constructed in 1995 by a community of family and friends. The space offers a serene atmosphere for shamanic healings and classes, a variety of community-circle gatherings and the creative arts therapies. Many of our workshops take place in our yurt and home and also include experiential time in the outdoors on the land.
Our backyard is the headwaters of the Sheepscot River, which intertwines with bogs and wetlands held as "forever wild" in conservation with our local land trust, the Sheepscot Wellspring Land Alliance. We have easy access to miles of beautiful trails throughout this part of central Maine for hiking, snowshoeing, and experiencing nature.

Our 1820's home provides additional space before and after events for meals, and houses an art therapy/counseling office as well. Susan and Chris's work includes a deep commitment to the sacredness of the land and the spirits of place and weather, in the traditions of shamanism, mindful contemplative practices and mystical Jewish Kabbalah.
